Report: LincsYFC Rally a great Success!
Lincolnshire Young Farmers members came together recently for the annual rally at Wispington, they had a day of competitions, fun and nostalgia.
Competitions from the past 35 years of YFC were resurrected to show members the fun their parents and past members had when they were in YFC.
Wragby YFC were crowned rally champions followed by Market Rasen and Horncastle. The Grange Farm, Wispington kindly hosted by Mr R Craven was the ideal venue for the all day's activities including the cross cut sawing, mock auction and jelly carving. With around 350 members taking part in the 70 competitions there was something for everyone. As well as the working classes there was an exhibition hall bursting with displays all made by the members.
Past members and parents helped the day run smoothly by giving up their time to judge and steward the classes and with local companies providing trade stands and refreshments there was plenty to see and do.
The day's events were rounded off with a dance being held in a shed. The live music was provided by Lincs YFC home grown band the Baltic donkeys who were just back from performing in Blackpool and the national AGM. They played the night out in true YFC style.
